Let noble thoughts come to us from every side……….
Gems of Wisdom from H.H.Shrimad Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji
The community should consider that it had undergone degradations, if even one of its members degenerates. That unfortunate member should be made to believe that the entire community is behind him and would be looking after his interests and should not allow him to undergo degeneration. It is the responsibility of the community to see that each member has the utmost faith in it. This was our ancestors’ concept –an ideal community.
Let us turn our attention to the modern world. A glance at the conveniences one that most of the house holders, men and women, father and son, teacher and student do not follow their respective Dharma. For example, according to the teacher’s Dharma, he should make it a point to see that his students strive for their uplift thereby becoming good citizens. The students on their part should consider the teacher as the one who guides them in leading a good life. But what do the students think? Most of them think that their teacher is making a living out of fees they pay to the educational institution. Some teachers also consider their profession as means of living. How then, can br strict with them? Without being strict how can he mould their character?
The purpose of education is to acquire knowledge which will help to realize God. It should also impart to us humanity and self control so essential for spiritual progress. If children are trained to maintain high ethical standards, many of our worries will cease to exist.
Falling to the feet of father and asking for his blessings is the Dharma of a son. The act of bowing down to the father’s feet does not raise the father’s stature. When son bows its expecting his fathr’s blessings and father blesses his son heartily and such a blsssing will always bear the fruit without fail. It should be understood that when one greets another, he is not greeting one man’s body, but greeting God residing in him.
God is the almighty he gives us equanimity and bliss and we should consider ourselves as the most fortunate people.
