The Significance Of Carfestival
During th Mounting of Lord Shree Varadaraja in Gurpur, Shrimad madhavendra Theertha Swamiji had kept some good luck money as "PATTA KANIKA" assuming that in future there will be carfestival in the temple where the GOd will be Placed on the wooden chariot. So as per thier blessings the "Bramha Rathotsava" was celebrated with pomp and joy with the blessings of Shree Kashimutt samsthan. And to see such grace of God we pepole are meant to be the Lucky ones.

Do you know where I can get some information about the history of the car festival at this temple? I am interested in knowing whether my great-grandfather, Gurpur Krishna Prabhu, had at one time donated money to keep this festival going.
