Posperity and light are the things which are necessary and auspicious in life for the whole worl. When others prosper in life there are sometimes when pepole get jealous at such moments at such time when we get such feelings if we divert our mind to the eternallight which we are familiar as GOD THE ALMIGHTY. We will be able to come out of such things and our mind will drive away the darkness, we be in stable mind and everlasting blessings of god will be within us.

The pure Phalguni River which is a river of purity and divinity in itself in such a divine place resides the almighty Shree VARADARAJA. The Gowda Saraswat Brahmin Samaj of the village Gurpur on the banks of the river "Phalguni" has always been under the divine grace of Lord Shree Varadaraja, the presiding deity of Shree Varadaraja Venkataramana Temple,Gurpur.

The deity of the Lord was brought to place by His Holiness Shrimad Madhavendra Theertha Swamiji of shri Kashimutt Samsthan in the year 1742 A.D. Members of our community from generations have placed thier faith and devotion at the feet of Lord sree Varadaraja and have been ensowed the Lords munificient blessings.

It was therfore appropriate that the temple had occassions to celebrate the anniversary of the Lords Prathishta. A Laghu Vishnu Havanam was peformed with senerity and on this occassion a sabha of 37 families of Gurpur was arranged. It was attended by a good number of all the family members and other devotees in a peaceful atmosphere.
